Chris Anne, the owner of Foundations Pediatric Therapy and a parent herself, deeply understands the challenges families face when seeking support for their children. Through her own advocacy journey for her family, she has navigated the complexities of neurodiversity and physical disabilities firsthand. This experience fuels her commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality therapy services that reflect what she would seek out for her own children.

Her passion lies in early intervention, helping late talkers, supporting children with autism, addressing speech sound disorders like lisps, developing social skills, and treating Dyslexia, as well as other speech and language disorders in preschool and school-aged children. Chris Anne believes in a personalized, evidence-based approach to therapy that empowers both children and their caregivers.

A nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist through ASHA since 2007, Chris Anne holds licenses in Alabama, California, and Oregon. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from the University of Alabama and her masters degree of science in Speech-Language Pathology from Alabama A & M University. Over the past 15 years, she has worked in a range of clinical settings, including schools, private practices, hospitals, and through teletherapy.

Chris Anne is not only a licensed speech-language pathologist but also a dedicated special education advocate. In this role, she helps families of children with disabilities navigate the complexities of the educational system, ensuring that each child receives the support and services they are entitled to under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Drawing from her personal experience as the mother of a children with physical and neurodivergent impairments, Chris Anne is deeply committed to advocating for families. She works alongside parents to develop and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring they are tailored to meet each child’s unique needs. Chris Anne also assists families in communicating effectively with school personnel to ensure proper accommodations and services are in place, empowering parents to become strong advocates for their children’s educational success.

Her advocacy work is driven by a passion for breaking down barriers and ensuring that all children, regardless of their abilities, have access to a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

Emilie Harrell, BA, SLPA

Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

Emilie Harrell is a certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) who is passionate about helping individuals find their voice. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Alabama A&M University in 2023 and is pursuing her Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders at her alma mater. Emilie previously completed a clinical rotation for her graduate program at Foundations Pediatric Therapy, and she is excited to join the team as an SLPA. Emilie has hands-on experience working with children with speech and language disorders and is incredibly passionate about serving the neurodivergent population. 

Emilie believes in providing engaging, evidence-based therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs. She is committed to fostering a supportive and motivating environment where children can build confidence in their communication skills. Her background in leadership, mentorship, and advocacy further fuels her dedication to ensuring all individuals have access to the speech and language support they need.

Beyond her professional work, Emilie enjoys performing in theater, singing, pageantry and pageant coaching, and mentoring young leaders. She looks forward to continuing to grow as a clinician and making a lasting impact in the field of speech-language pathology.

Kalista Rudd, MA, CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Kalista attended the University of Northern Iowa, earning her undergraduate degree (BA) in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2020 and her graduate degree (MA) in Speech-Language Pathology in 2022. She is a current clinical doctoral candidate through the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMUoHP), focusing clinical research efforts on creating virtual feeding-based training opportunities for caregivers of preterm infants. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds licensure within the state of Alabama. Kalista has three years of clinical experience working with neonates, medically fragile infants, toddlers, adolescents, adults, and many patients with complex developmental and medical needs across inpatient and outpatient settings. 

Kalista’s passion lies in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. She is well-equipped to support neonates, infants, and pediatric patients with various feeding-related challenges. She aims to provide holistic, individualized, and evidence-supported care to facilitate positive and lasting feeding success across all developmental stages. She remains dedicated to building a trusting partnership with caregivers to facilitate long-term feeding success

Marissa Garvich, MS, CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Marissa is a certified member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She is licensed to practice speech-language pathology in Alabama and Florida. Marissa received her bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Furman University in 2010 and her master’s in communication sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida in 2012. Marissa has practiced speech therapy in a variety of private and educational settings. The majority of her experience has been in private practice, where she has worked extensively with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and young adults.

Marissa believes in providing fun, evidence-based care tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. As a mother to a child with a unilateral hearing impairment, Marissa is deeply committed to advocacy and outreach initiatives aimed at breaking down the barriers many families face when searching for appropriate providers and services. Outside of the professional setting, Marissa enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time with her husband and three young children.
